Separation of the drug was achieved on a Symmetry C18 column (150mm x 4.6mm, 5µm) using a mobile phase consisting of ammonium acetate buffer and acetonitrile in the ratio of 50:50 v\/v. The flow rate was 0.8ml\/min at ambient temperature. The quantification was achieved with UV detection at 273nm. The linearity was observed over the concentration range of 50-250µg\/ml with a correlation coefficient of 0.999. The accuracy of the proposed method was determined by recovery studies and found to be 98-100.3% of Sertraline.
