Hence, the study deploys a mixed methodology to answer the two research questions. In doing so, the findings from the content analysis of DN showed that crises news is the dominant news about Sub-Saharan Africa. The findings from interviews further indicate that ¿negative¿ news and images dominate the representation of Sub- Saharan Africa in the Swedish mass media.
