These studies bring us nearer to an understanding on the molecular level of how neuronal activity generates sensory perception and behavior. In my work, I have focused on cellular and molecular features of neurons composing the rodent barrel cortex, and their synaptic connectivity. My work centers on (A) the synaptic properties of the neurons composing Layer 4 local excitatory circuits, (B) excitatory receptors which mediate propagation within these circuits in adult animals, and (C) the factors that regulate development of these recurrent excitatory circuits.

Intrinsic and synaptic properties of the neurons in mouse barrel cortex
