Dr. Guy defines a poison to be any substance which, when applied \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eto the body externally, or in any way introduced into the system, without \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eacting mechanically, but by its own inherent qualities, is capable of \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003edestroying life.
