My father spoke so lovingly and forlornly about his early life in Galicia that I built a fantasy world out of those stories where I would time and again seek refuge from reality. My family history inspires my work. A one sided inspiration since it was based only on my father''s family, and also based on my imagination since I did not meet them until I was in my 20''s and they have all since died.
