Critics see the NATO\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eas a relic from the Cold War and suspect the United States of America\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eto utilize this institution in order to enlarge and intensify their worldwide\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003esphere of influence.2 The only fait accompli is the fact that NATO has\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003echanged. To underline this statement General Secretary Robertson was\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ewearing a t-shirt, with the slogan ¿This ain¿t your daddy¿s NATO¿, at the\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eNATO summit 2003 in Colorado Springs.3 The question accrues what\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ethe NATO exactly is in our days and if the changes made, since 1990\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eare significant enough to guarantee the survival of the biggest\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003emultilateral military alliance?
