At the junction between the Yaoundé series (in large part) and the Congo craton, this area appears to be a key sector for understanding the mapping of the Pan-African nappes north of the Congo craton. The lithological inventory highlighted six petrographic types: garnet and amphibole gneisses related to the Ntem complex (Congo craton) and Pan-African age formations including garnet chloritoschists, garnet amphibolites, garnet micaschists, talcschists and garnet-distincter migmatites.
