It examined the different school  activities in which the students were participating  \u0026amp; how these school activities matched the students¿  needs \u0026amp; previous background. It also attempted to  compare the students'' school experiences in selected  Australian \u0026amp; Ethiopian schools. A qualitative  methodology, using interviews, observation \u0026amp;  document analysis as data collection tools, was  employed. As an Ethiopian sharing the participants¿  previous life experiences \u0026amp; as a researcher  watching, listening \u0026amp; participating with them \u0026amp;  including my own voice, I used a postcritical  ethnographic approach. Secondary school students,  their teachers \u0026amp; parents acted as informants for the  study. A total of fifty nine participants were  interviewed. The interview data were transcribed \u0026amp;  coded. A combination of narrative \u0026amp; thematic  analysis was used.
