Modern drugs which are used for treatment of type II DM control the blood glucose level as long as they are regularly administered. Despite their effectiveness they have unwanted side effects and toxicity,lack of equitable distribution, unaffordablity and less acceptable by the patients. Diabetic patients are at risk of chronic morbidity and premature mortality despite the assiduous use of the available drugs. Therefore, this book evaluates the effect of Trigonella foenum-graecum L.seed on blood glucose level and lipid profile in newly diagnosed type II diabetic patients.This is inexpensive food-based treatment, easily available in local areas, more acceptable by the patients, less side effects and affordability as compared to modern medicine.
