It was established in the  research work that the increased economic growth,  production and commercial activities, which Kano  witnessed, was based on its location as the largest  city in the Savannah belt of Africa South of the  Sahara.  Thus, the introduction of commercial buses  in the 1960's had stimulated increased commercial  contact in Metropolitan Kano, which had hitherto  sporadic contact with each other.
