The aim of this project is to identify a novel and an effective therapeutic endogenous molecular target in Mycobacterium tuberculosis. In this study, I have identified, cloned, expressed and partially purified the novel putative endogenous therapeutic target for various non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) from H37Rv strain of Mycobacterium tuberculosis: putative mycobacterial infB, Rv2839c encoded protein which is putative protein translation initiation factor 2 (IF2) in a few species of mycobacteria.
