The effect of fibre  reinforcement at the interface between silicone and  acrylic polymers was investigated. Treatments that  enhance bonding of silicone to acrylic   substructures for intra-oral dental and obturator  prostheses were established. Bond strengths were  studied following aggressive thermo-cycling  procedures. All acrylic interfaces tested had a  clinically acceptable range of bond strength with  silicone.
