Specific  objectives of the study were to (1) review the  current status of hospital waste management; (2)  compare the management techniques and practices;(3)  determine the effectiveness of infectious waste  handling and disposal by testing pathogens; and (4)  recommend appropriate management options for medical  waste, in developing country specifically in  Thailand and Bangladesh. Study conducted mainly 2 cities in Bangladesh and 2  cities in Thailand. Data and information were  collected from March 2000 to March 2001. Overall analysis showed the evidence of a lack of  proper attention given by the authority. There were  other constraints also identified from the study.  Overall finding indicates that there was a lacking  in in-house  management of medical waste both the countries with  some extents.
