In the area of marital adjustment, wives of non-alcoholics showed significantly more martially adjusted compared to wives of alcoholics. In the area of coping strategies adopted, wives of non-alcoholics are good in coping strategies as compared to wives of alcoholics. There was a significant negative correlation between stress and coping strategies, stress and marital adjustment among wives of alcoholics and non alcoholics.
