This book explores  the trends and differentials in CABG and PCI rates  by age, gender, marital status, length of stay,  country of birth, Aboriginality, Area Health  Service, co-existing conditions and deaths using NSW  hospital discharge data from 1990-91 to 2001-02.Small area analysis methods are used to assess the  Local Government Area level variation in procedure  rates. Moreover by applying life table and potential  life lost methods on leading causes of deaths in  NSW, the effects of the elimination of CAD and  premature deaths are assessed.
