In early times there was no \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ecommerce except that carried on by the pirates¿if we may dignify their \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eundertakings by such a respectable name,¿and it was hardly possible to \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003emake a living from the soil alone.
