With a population of 78,418 inhabitants; the sample consisted of 382 citizens of Chepén, non-probabilistic convenience sampling. The survey technique was used and the instrument was a questionnaire. Finally, a direct correlation of moderate magnitude was determined between Legislative Decree 1278 and the right to live in a healthy and balanced environment (rs =.400). A moderate knowledge of Legislative Decree 1278 was evidenced in 59.2%, and in the right to live in a healthy and balanced environment in 85.9%.
