In this study, the possible analgesic and CNS (Central Nervous System) depressant activities of the methanolic rhizome extract of Hedychium coronarium were investigated at the doses of 100 mg\/Kg, 200 mg\/kg and 400 mg\/Kg body weight on mice by oral administration. The analgesic activities were investigated for their central and peripheral pharmacological actions using tail immersion testing and acetic acid-induced writhing testing respectively.
