Methanol extracts possessed significant antihepatotoxic potential as compared to petroleum ether and chloroform extracts. Phytochemical evaluation of these plants resulted in isolation of thirteen compounds including two novel compounds isolated from M. vulgare and B. pachyacantha for the first time.
