The study aimed at scrutinizing and comparing how   the telecommunications operators of Laos and   Thailand manage their people in a period of rapid   technological changes, knowledgeable customers and   intensified competition in this service-based era.   Twenty-three key informants from the   telecommunications companies were interviewed face-  to-face (15 from Thailand and 8 from Laos), and 469   valid questionnaires were accumulatively collected   to study the employees¿ perspectives and actual HRM   practices in the telecommunications companies.
