The scientific research and practical implications  of psychoneuroimmunology (PNI) describes how  thoughts, perceptions and emotions interchangeably  influence the immune system.  Constructivism is a holistic philosophical  container, linked to Behavioural Medicine with  similar ideologies, cementing all the concepts used  in this thesis.
